Adding an Additional TalkSwitch Unit to the Network
Last Updated: 01/13/2012
You can have up to 4 TalkSwitch units networked together on the same LAN.  Connect unit 1 to the LAN (either by connecting to the network router or network switch) and connect the remaining units only with the power supply cord and not to the LAN.

For each additional unit, make sure the power is on the unit but it remains disconnected from the LAN.  Connect an analog phone to an available E port.  Pick up the handset and you should hear dial tone.  Press # + 0 + (Unit ID number between 1 to 4) + #.  For example, if this is the 2nd unit you are connecting to the network you would dial # + 0 + 2 (for unit ID 2) + #.  Do this for each additional unit.

Connect each additional unit to the LAN and then connect any outside phone lines or analog extensions to the appropriate L and E ports.

Also, if you are connecting an external MOH (Music On Hold) device or PA system these devices must be connected to all TalkSwitch units using a splitter.

Login using the TalkSwitch Management Software to make sure that the configuration is set to using all units.  You may have to upgrade the firmware on the initial login.
