860I wireless base station is not receiving an IP address

On the base station make sure the Inet light is lit solid green. If the light is not lit there is a physical Ethernet connection problem. By default the 860I base station is set to receive the IP address dynamically from the DHCP server, which in most small / home offices is the router. 

If you are having difficulty with this, you can assign the base station a static IP address.
  1. Go to a computer and click on start button 
  2. In the search box type "cmd" and hit enter
  3. In the command prompt window type "ipconfig", and hit enter

Things you will need to write down from the command window:
  • IP address
  • Subnet mask address
  • Default gateway address

We need to assign the base station a unique IP address. In most cases, assigning a host address of 199 will work fine (E.G. 192.168.1.199). If you are unsure please speak with your systems administrator or IT person.

On the handset
  1. Press the OK key
  2. Select settings (wrench icon)
  3. Select IP mode 
  4. Select static
  5. Press back
  6. Scroll till you find set ip                                                                                                                           Note use the options menu and select symbol to place a (.) 
  7. Set the ip address as xxx.xxx.xxx.199, where (x) is the numbers you wrote down, and save
  8. Set the subnet mask as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where (x) is the numbers you wrote down, and save
  9. Set the default gateway as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, where (x) is the numbers you wrote down, and save

Once this is done back out and reboot the base station. You should be able to access the web administration screen when the base station finishes rebooting. 

Open a web browser and type the IP address that you assigned the base station. A window should pop-up prompting you to login.

User name: admin
Password: 23646 or 55555
