If you are receiving an error when optimizing the telephone line on your FVC, make sure you are on the latest version of the fortinet management software. There is a known Java incompatibility issue between Java 7 update 21 and Fortivoice Management Software version 7.20.009.
If you are using this version of the fortinet management software, you should first check for an updated version. http://www.fortivoice.com/page/fortivoice-software.html
At the time this KB was written, 7.20.009 was the latest version of the management software. To resolve the issue check which version of Java is currently installed on your system. If the version is higher than Java 7 update 17 you will need to uninstall that version and install Java 7 update 17 until a new version of the management software is released.
Java SE Runtime environment 7U17:
Download: Windows x86 Offline - jre-7u17-windows-i586.exe
If you are still experiencing an issue performing the line optimization, check to see if (ratedouble.exe) has been removed. We have found that some virus protection programs will flag and remove this file by mistake.
The file should be located in this path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\FortiVoice Management 7.20\ApplicationFiles\Exec
If you find that this file has been removed, the best approach is to: 1. Create a global exception for: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\*" in your virus protection program 2. Temporarily disable the virus protection program 3. Reinstall the Fortinet Management Software
As an alternative we have attached the file to this KB article. 1. Download the file RateDouble.zip 2. Temporarily disable the virus protection program 3. Unzip the file to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\FortiVoice Management 7.20\ApplicationFiles\Exec" 4. Create a global exception for: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Fortinet\*" in your virus protection program
