Rebooting a TalkSwitch Unit
Last Updated: 06/28/2012

Sometimes your TalkSwitch system will need to be rebooted. It is recommended that you reboot your TalkSwitch unit every 1-2 weeks to keep optimum call quality. There are 2 ways which you can proceed with a reboot:

The first option is by pressing the power button on the front of the TalkSwitch Unit. This will recycle the power through the unit, and within 30 seconds the unit will be up and ready to make calls again. NOTE: Any calls currently in progress will be immediately disconnected if this method is chosen.

The second option is to reboot your TalkSwitch unit through the TalkSwitch Management Software:

1.     Enter the TalkSwitch Management Software, proceed to the toolbar and select ‘Tools’. Choose the final option ‘Reboot System’.

2.     A Window will pop up. Choose one of the following options based on your needs

1. Reboot now (This option will automatically disconnect all calls in progress, so use with caution)

2. Lock down and reboot when current calls are completed (this will allow current calls to continue, but deny the ability for new calls to be made until after the reboot)

3. Reboot after idle for nnn minutes (this option will allow the system to wait until the unit has been idle for however many minutes you set, and then will reboot the system)

4. Reboot at specified time (this option allows you to set a time and a date for the system to reboot- this allows you to automatically reboot the system during your off hours)

NOTE: Always keep in mind when rebooting the system while calls are in progress, all calls will be automatically disconnected, unless you utilize one of the processes to avoid it.
